New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships

The Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium will host over 1,000 athletes during the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, which will take place from 27 September to 5 October. It will be the 12th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships and the largest Para sport event ever held in India.

The New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships competition programme will feature 186 medal events (101 men's, 84 women's and one mixed), 15 more than at the last edition of the championships in Kobe.

Asia has hosted the World Championships in four occasions, at Doha 2015 in Qatar, Dubai 2019 in the United Arab Emirates and Kobe 2024 in Japan.

Competition Information

The JLN Stadium was constructed to host the Asian Games in 1982 and later renovated and upgraded for hosting the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The venue has a seating capacity to accommodate 60,000 spectators and is maintained by the Sports Authority of India on behalf of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
